Can polynucleotide injections be combined with other treatments?Yes, polynucleotide injections can be combined with other cosmetic or medical treatments, such as Botox, dermal fillers, micro-needling, or skin boosters, to enhance overall results. Combining treatments should be done under the guidance of a qualified aesthetician.
-
What are polynucleotide injections?Polynucleotide injections are long chains of nucleotides injected into the skin or tissues to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and enhance tissue regeneration. These injections are derived from natural sources like salmon DNA and are used in both medical and cosmetic treatments.
-
How do polynucleotide injections compare to other skin treatments like Botox or fillers?Polynucleotide injections differ from Botox and dermal fillers in their mechanism of action and results. While Botox temporarily paralyses muscles to reduce wrinkles and fillers add volume to areas of the face, polynucleotide injections promote natural skin regeneration and hydration. They are often used in combination with other treatments to achieve comprehensive results.
-
How soon can I expect to see results? Results vary depending on the treatment area and individual factors. For skin rejuvenation, improvements in skin texture and hydration may be noticeable within a few weeks, with optimal results typically seen after a series of treatments. In cases of wound healing or joint repair, the effects may become evident as the tissue gradually regenerates over time.
-
Can polynucleotide injections be used for anti-aging purposes?Yes, polynucleotide injections are widely used for anti-aging purposes. They help to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and restore a youthful appearance by promoting collagen production and enhancing skin hydration.
-
What are the benefits of polynucleotide injections over other treatments?Polynucleotide injections offer several benefits, including: Minimal side effects and low risk of allergic reactions Long-lasting results Biocompatibility and safety for repeated use Versatility in treating a wide range of conditions
-
How many treatments are needed? The number of treatments required depends on the specific condition being treated and the desired outcome. For skin rejuvenation, a series of three to four treatments spaced several weeks apart is common.
-
What conditions can be treated with polynucleotide injections?Polynucleotide injections are used for various applications, including: Skin rejuvenation and anti-aging Wound healing and scar reduction Treatment of joint and tendon injuries Hair regeneration for conditions like hair loss Management of chronic inflammatory conditions
-
Are there any side effects or risks associated with polynucleotide injections?Side effects are generally mild and may include redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Serious complications are rare, but as with any medical procedure, there is a small risk of infection or allergic reaction. Your healthcare provider will discuss potential risks with you before the procedure.
-
Are polynucleotide injections safe?Yes, polynucleotide injections are generally considered safe. They are derived from natural sources and have high biocompatibility, reducing the risk of adverse reactions. However, as with any medical treatment, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider to ensure the procedure is appropriate for your specific needs.
-
How do polynucleotide injections work?Polynucleotides interact with the extracellular matrix and cellular receptors to promote hydration, reduce inflammation, and stimulate collagen production. This leads to improved skin elasticity, faster wound healing, and overall tissue repair.
-
What is the procedure like? The procedure is minimally invasive and typically involves a series of small injections administered to the targeted area. The treatment is usually well-tolerated, with little to no downtime required. Some patients may experience mild redness or swelling at the injection site, which typically resolves within a few days.
-
How long do the effects of polynucleotide injections last? The effects of polynucleotide injections can last several months, depending on the specific treatment and individual patient factors. For skin rejuvenation, improvements in skin texture and elasticity may be noticeable for up to six months or more.
-
How long does it take to see results from weight loss injections?Weight loss injections can start showing effects within a few weeks. However, significant weight loss is usually observed over several months when combined with lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet and regular physical activity. Individual results vary, and some people may experience faster or slower progress.
-
Can weight loss injections be used with other medications or treatments? Some weight loss injections can be safely combined with other medications, but it’s important to consult with your nurse prescriber. Certain drugs or treatments may interact negatively with weight loss injections, so a comprehensive review of your medication history is necessary before starting treatment.
-
What are the common side effects of weight loss injections?Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation. These symptoms are usually mild and decrease over time. In rare cases, more serious side effects like pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, or kidney issues may occur, which require immediate medical attention.
-
Do weight loss injections require lifestyle changes to be effective?Yes, for optimal results, weight loss injections are most effective when combined with a healthy diet, regular exercise, and lifestyle modifications. They are not a standalone solution; rather, they support weight loss efforts by curbing appetite and promoting satiety, which makes it easier to stick to a calorie-controlled diet.
-
Are weight loss injections safe?Weight loss injections can be safe for many people when prescribed and monitored by a healthcare provider. However, they may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions like thyroid cancer, pancreatitis, or gallbladder issues. It’s important to undergo a medical evaluation and discuss any potential risks.
-
Who is a good candidate for weight loss injections?Ideal candidates are typically adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher (obesity) or those with a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related health condition (e.g., type 2 diabetes, hypertension). A healthcare provider will assess your medical history and weight loss goals to determine if the injections are appropriate.
-
What are weight loss injections, and how do they work?Weight loss injections are medications designed to aid in weight loss by regulating hunger, increasing metabolism, or affecting the body’s ability to absorb nutrients. The most common types include GLP-1 agonists like Semaglutide (Ozempic or Wegovy) and Liraglutide (Saxenda), which work by mimicking a hormone that regulates appetite, leading to reduced food intake.
-
How long do I need to use weight loss injections? The duration varies depending on individual goals and the type of injection used. Some people may use them for a few months, while others may continue for a year or longer under medical supervision. Regular check-ins with your healthcare provider are necessary to determine when or if you should stop the injections.
-
Can I regain weight after stopping weight loss injections? It is possible to regain weight after stopping weight loss injections, especially if lifestyle changes are not maintained. To minimise the risk, it is important to adopt long-term habits like balanced eating and regular exercise, even after the injections are discontinued.

Is microneedling painful? Most of our customers find it quite relaxing, and quite a few have fallen asleep during the procedure! However if you are nervous, just let us know beforehand and we will allow extra time to apply some local anaesthetic cream.
-
How do they work?Hyaluronic acid is already present in our body, in the skin, joints, eyes and connective tissue. Its role is to help maintain moisture and each molecule is capable of holding 1000 times its weight in water. From the age of 30 we lose roughly 1% of our body’s hyaluronic acid stores, which leads to moisture loss, volume reduction and the appearance of fine lines. Most serums and good moisturisers will contain hyaluronic acid; however the skin is the bodies largest barrier, and whilst some will absorb into the skin the primary role of skin is to keep things out. This means there is no better way to increase the amount of hyaluronic acid you are holding than by injecting it straight in in a pure form. You achieve 100% absorption immediately and gain maximum impact and results.

What are the benefits of microneedling?Microneedling makes your skin glow after just one treatment and continues to boost the appearance of your complexion for months afterward. The benefits of microneedling are many. Here are 10 of the most notable. 1. REDUCES THE APPEARANCE OF LINES AND WRINKLES No one wants to look older than they are. But premature aging that presents as fine lines and wrinkles does just that. The tiny injuries from a microneedling session boost collagen and elastin production to fight lines and wrinkles. Collagen and elastin are compounds in your skin that add structure and strength, lending a youthful quality. The wound-healing mechanisms also stimulate your body to produce new skin cells, making fine lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles less apparent. 2. SCAR TREATMENT Because microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, it’s also super effective in addressing acne and other scars on your skin. The only type of scar not possible to treat is keloid, or raised scars. 3. SUN DAMAGE Microneedling is effective in reducing the appearance of sun damage, particularly hyperpigmentation and age spots. If you have a blotchy, brownish complexion, which is probably a result of too many days of sunning, microneedling and its ability to stimulate new collagen and skin cells can reinvigorate your look and even out your tone. 4. ANTI-AGING Aging doesn’t just show up as wrinkles and discoloration. As you get older, your skin loses its elasticity, so it appears lax. Aging skin may also look dull and lack a lustrous glow. Microneedling can change this. The buildup of collagen that occurs in response to the tiny wounds can improve skin structure to fight sagging. Plus, just 24 hours following a session, you experience a radiant, fresh glow. 5. SHRINKS PORES Despite the fact that microneedling involves punching holes in your skin, it doesn’t increase the size of your pores. In fact, it helps your pores appear much smaller. When the collagen around your pores is stimulated, the areaaround each pore plumps, making the pore itself almost disappear. 6. IMPROVES THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TOPICAL PRODUCTS Post-microneedling is the prime time to apply anti-aging treatments, moisturizers, and other topical treatments that boost skin health and appearance. The micro-holes receive creams, serums, and gels more readily and deliver them deeper into your dermis than when applied regularly. 7. REPAIRS STRETCH MARKS Microneedling works just about anywhere on your body. It can be effective in reducing the appearance of stretch marks that show up after periods of rapid growth, such as during pregnancy. 8. ROSACEA REDUCTION The ruddiness and skin thickening of rosacea can be addressed with microneedling. If you suffer from this skin condition, you experience a hastened breakdown of collagen. Microneedling stimulates the growth of collagen to offset and replace this breakdown, so your skin looks less inflamed and irritated. 9. ACNE IMPROVEMENT Because of the improved delivery of topical applications, you can use microneedling to help improve the effectiveness of topical acne treatments. Regular microneedling applications at Oakridge Aesthetics can help your skin clear up. 10. FEWER SIDE EFFECTS THAN LASER OR INTENSIVE PEELS Microneedling’s effects are comparable to laser and chemical peel treatments but without the long downtime. You can enjoy a glowing complexion 24-72 hours after microneedling, but with laser resurfacing, your recovery may take three to 10 days. Your complexion needs 14-21 days to bounce back after a medium or intensive peel.

When should I not have microneedling? If you have an active skin infection or a coldsore then you should not have treatment. If you need to have your picture taken in the next 48 hours it is best to avoid treatment. Redness normally lasts around 12 hours, but its better to be safe than sorry. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the cocktails. We have these listed under the FAQ 'what are the prescription cocktail options.'

The do's and dont's of microneedlingIt is important to avoid exfoliants, retinol and vitamin C creams/serums 48 hours before and after treatment to avoid irritation to the skin. Use a simple moisturiser for 48 hours and ensure you wear SPF when out during the day as your skin will be extra sensitive to the suns rays. Avoid jacuzzis, saunas, steam baths, swimming pools, sunbeds, alcohols and strenuous exercise for the first 48 hours. The skin needs time to heal, so avoid anything that could cause it to sweat or bruise. Hyaluronic acid serums and sheet masks are well absorbed after a microneedling session, so now is the perfect time to use them. Drinking at least 2 litres of water a day will help rehydrate the skin, keeping it healthy and glowing.

How many treatments will I need?Manufacturers recommend a course of 3 treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart for optimal results. If you have younger skin that is in good condition, then less treatments are sufficient. If you have older skin that requires more rejuvenation, then it is possible to keep continuing with monthly treatments until you are happy with the outcome.
-
How long do they last? After the initial course, manufacturers recommend that you have a top up treatment after approximately 9months. Lifestyle changes can impact on how quickly the top up is needed. If you are a smoker or have a lot of sun exposure then you may require an earlier top up, if you have a good skincare regime then it may not be required until around 12 months.
-
Are there any side effects or contraindications? There is nobody that is unsuitable for this treatment as it is a substance that our body contains. The only side effects that can occur are from the act of injecting itself. Inserting a needle into the skin can cause temporary pain, bruising or redness. It can also cause a small amount of inflammation in the skin which settles in a few days. The only time someone would be an unsuitable candidate was if they were suffering from an active skin infection.
-
How are they administered? If an all over rejuvenation is requested, we inject using the bio-aesthetic points technique. This means that you have 5 injections either side of the face, and they are designed in such a way that they enable the most effective spread of the product. However, we will discuss what you want to achieve when you arrive, and if you have specific areas that you wish to target (for example fine lines around the mouth) we and focus our attention there for optimal results in that area, then share the remainder of the product around the bio-aesthetic points. Skin boosters are extremely versatile and can enable you to target your concerns for the perfect outcome.

What is fat dissolving?Fat dissolving injections are a series of injections that are used to target and eliminate specific areas of fat deposits. They are often referred to as chemical liposuction. The medication is injected into the area you wish to treat using a mesotherapy technique, which is a series of injections evenly spaced over a larger area. The medication breaks down and dissolves the underlying fat cells and they are then flushed out in your body. The results are permanent as long as you maintain a health diet and exercise.
-
What are the benefits of fat dissolving injections?Fat dissolving is a safe, effective and affordable way to get rid of unwanted bulges without down time. It is relatively pain-free unlike surgery, much more accessible and it only takes an hour out of your day. It is convenient for slimming down areas of the body that are difficult to target with exercise In addition to reducing stored fat cells, the injections will increase your metabolism which will in turn assist you with your weight loss journey and increase your energy levels.
-
How safe are fat dissolving injections? If you are deemed suitable for the injections after a consultation, the treatment is very safe. There is a risk of swelling and bruising at the treatment site, which is unavoidable due to the amount of injections administered. There is also a low risk of infection in the treated area, and aftercare advice is given to minimise this risk. A trial of Lipo-lab use on over 10,000 participants in the UK showed not a single side effect had been reported with this product. Rarely, serious allergic reactions can occur from administration of any injectable product. We hold emergency drugs here at Oakridge and are fully experienced in dealing with this type of medical emergency. In the rare occasion of this arising, rest assured you are in capable hands. Lipo -lab has not been tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women, so would not be considered safe to use in these situations. The acid is filtered through your body, and we do not know the effects it would have on your child. It is also not advised for use in patients with heart disease, stroke or arteriosclerosis. It would be unsuitable for people with uncontrolled diabetes, or patients that are having active cancer treatment. It would not be advisable as a treatment for someone on blood thinning medication due to the risk of extensive bruising.
-
What to expect from my treatment? If you book a treatment with us we ask that you do some research about the procedure and the products we use to be sure that this treatment feels correct for you, and so that you have time to weigh up the pros and cons. When you attend you will have a consultation to assess your suitability for treatment and discuss your expectations. We are able to make a personalised treatment plan to achieve the look you desire. We are able to prescribe and administer your treatment, and offer you follow up care and advice after it has been administered. There is no charge if you decide not to go ahead, or are unable to go ahead with treatment. Following treatment you may have some redness in the area for a short while afterwards. Occasionally you may have a small amount of swelling or bruising. You may get a warm or sometimes 'stinging' sensation for up to 4 hours, but the discomfort will be minimal and you will be able to continue largely as normal (there are a few do's and dont's which will be explained in your consultation).
-
When and how long does it work? The documented literature on visible results varies greatly with Lipo-lab injections, so this information is what has been reported to us by our clients. Chin areas normally require 2 treatments. Results are usually visible 10-14 days after the first treatment, and most clients are happy with their results after a second treatment. Occasionally, in a larger or triple chin, a third treatment has been required. Despite the results being visible quite quickly, the injection continues to work for 6-8 weeks after treatment. Body areas that require contouring, where clients have been able to just 'pinch and inch', have shown fantastic results. These clients have again reported visible results after one treatment 10-14 days later. Body areas with greater fat stores have shown significant improvement in texture after one treatment, the areas are visibly smoother with a noticeable loss of cellulite. These areas are usually requiring 3 or more treatments to reach the desired effect. The injections will work every time they are administered, but on thicker fatty deposits - as expected - more treatments are required to trim away a layer each time. They are perfect for people who want to treat specific areas that they have been unable to slim down with diet and exercise, but are not a cost-effective treatment for obesity due to the amount of treatments that would be required.
-
What product do you use for fat dissolving injections? We inject a product called lipo-lab for body areas, and lipo-lab V-line premium for chins. We have chosen this product from the many available on the market as we believe it is the kindest pharmaceutical for our clients. It is well known to cause little to no swelling and discomfort, and it has shown us amazing results. It also contains a local anaesthetic to make administration more comfortable. It has been publicised to have been used by celebrities like Mariah Carey and Britney Spears with great success, and is fast becoming one of the most popular on the market!
-
How do fat dissolving injections work?Fat dissolving injections are made up of an acid called phosphatidylcholine, which is an acid that is made naturally in our bodies, and is found within our bile. This acid is used to breakdown fat in the foods that we eat. When injected into an area on our body with fat cells present, it breaks down the fat in much the same way as it does in the stomach. The dissolved fat is then absorbed into our lymphatic system, filtered out through the kidneys and excreted in our urine. This removes the fat cells permanently!
-
What happens after I have the injection? You may feel a little sore at the injection site and have a small amount of redness or small swelling. But this should resolve very quickly and should not stop you getting on with whatever you had planned for the rest of the day.
-
How long does the treatment take? The longest part of the treatment is the clinical assessment, and discussion with you regarding the possible benefits and side effects. The injection itself takes just a few seconds.
-
Are there any side effects to the treatments you give?As medical professionals we are very cautious about what we are happy to administer outside of a medical setting. We only give low risk treatments that are deemed safe with very little complications. We will discuss any side effects specific to the treatment that you have chosen prior to administering it, and you are under no obligation to go ahead should you decide it is not for you. However, administration of any foreign body in the form of an injection whether it be for cosmetic or medical purposes can result in an emergency situation such as anaphylaxis. Please be reassured that we keep the appropriate medication to deal with this emergency and are confident in how to use it.
-
How do I book a vitamin injection? All our injections require a prescription so if you decide you would like to receive one we will book you in with our nurse prescriber for your initial consultation. If it is decided that you would benefit from this treatment, and there are no contraindications we can start your treatment.
-
I’m not feeling myself and think a vitamin injection might help. But I’m not sure which one would be best for me. What should I do?Book an appointment and come in to have a chat. Our nurse prescriber is very experienced and will be able to guide you. She may suggest that you visit your GP and have some routine blood tests, if you have symptoms that are consistent with certain medical problems. Our consultations are free, and you are under no obligation to go ahead with a treatment.
-
What are the benefits of having lip fillers?Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a compound that is found naturally in the body. It retains water and hydrates the surrounding tissues providing structural support. Your lips will look fuller, healthier and can be augmented to achieve any look you should desire.
-
What products do you use?Our standard lip filler of choice is Vivacy Stylage Lips Lidocaine. This product is only for use by registered medical professionals. It contains local anaesthetic to make the procedure much more comfortable for you. It is a premium product and well known to cause minimal swelling and bruising. It is long lasting, and typically lasts around 12 months before requiring a top-up.
-
I suffer from cold sores. Can I have lip fillers? It is not advisable to have fillers whilst you have an active cold sore. This is because the herpes virus that causes the sore could spread to the whole of the lips which would be extremely painful and could cause scarring. However, it us fine to have treatment when there is no sore present.
-
What aftercare is advised?Cooling the lips after treatment with cool packs can reduce swelling and bruising. It is advisable to leave the lips alone as much as possible so that the filler can settle, and so no further trauma is caused, and no sources of infection are introduced.
-
Are lip fillers painful? We use a prescription grade local anaesthetic cream to make the procedure as comfortable for you as possible. We also only use fillers that contain lidocaine which is the local anaesthetic you get at the dentist. We have had many clients say that their experience having lip fillers with us has been far more comfortable than previous experiences at other clinics. We even had one lady fall asleep during her lip filler treatment!
-
Can I drink alcohol after lip fillers? It is recommended that you allow a 24-hour window either side of lip filler treatment before drinking alcohol. This is because alcohol dilates blood vessels which may cause you to have increased bruising.
-
I’m nervous about having fillers. I want to look natural but have seen people with fillers that look like they have a beak!We use advanced administration techniques to inject the fillers in vertical, so the lips will appear plumper and fuller but remain flat. This also causes less trauma to the lips so there is less bruising and swelling from your treatment.
-
Can I wear lipstick after lip fillers?Yes. The treatment can leave you feeling slightly tender, but if you feel naked without your lipstick there is no reason why you cannot apply some. However, it is recommended that you leave them for 24 hours to recover from the treatment.
-
How safe are anti-wrinkle injections? When administered correctly, by a competent injector, they are very safe. Complications are very rare and are usually caused by poor injection technique, however these complications do not last as once the nerve endings replace themselves, the toxin is shed off and the problem erases. There is also a very small risk of anaphylactic reaction when any pharmaceutical is given. Please rest assured that we are well experienced in dealing with this emergency and we keep an emergency drugs box here to treat you should this situation arise.
-
What are anti-wrinkle injections?Anti-wrinkle injections are when minute quantities of Botulinum Toxin A are injected into the muscles of the face. This restricts movement in the muscles and reduces lines and dynamic wrinkles.
-
What are the benefits of anti-wrinkle injections? The main benefits are a younger, fresher, more youthful appearance. It can also stop the formation of static lines.
-
What to expect from my treatment? The first step is to attend a consultation with our nurse prescriber who will assess your suitability medically, and advise you if this is the most appropriate treatment to achieve your desired goals. Should we agree that anti-wrinkle injections will give you a successful outcome then we can administer them in a bespoke treatment plan that suits the strength of your facial muscles. Due to the length of time it takes for the toxin to work, we then offer a 2 weekly review free of charge to assess the outcome and top-up any areas that require it.
-
What product do you use for anti-wrinkle injections? We administer Allergan Botox. This Botulinum Toxin A injectable contains tiny amounts of albumin, which help the toxin to adhere to the nerve endings to form a stronger bond, at we have found that this toxin often lasts longer than other similar versions. Due to the albumin present in Allergan Botox, it is not a suitable toxin to administer to someone with egg allergies. Please inform us if you suffer from an egg allergy so that we can prescribe an alternative toxin.
-
When and how long does it work? Most people will start to notice subtle improvements within 72 hours, but it takes a full 14 days for the toxin to reach its full potential. Unless there is a significant asymmetry in the face it is not appropriate to add in further injections until the 14 days has passed. This is because the toxin will not take effect in equal times, some areas may take longer than others. Caution needs to be taken when administering toxin, once it has been injected it cannot be removed and over-injecting can cause facial droops. The treatment will usually last around 3 months initially, but this usually extends the longer you have treatment. Most people end up requiring just 2-3 treatments a year.
-
Can I wear makeup after lip fillers? It is recommended that you leave your face for 24 hours to recover from the treatment, and so you don’t disturb the filler as it settles. However there is no medical reason why you cannot wear make-up, but would advise that should you choose to do so you apply it with caution.
-
What aftercare is advised?Cooling the area after treatment with cool packs can reduce swelling and bruising. It is advisable to leave the area alone as much as possible so that the filler can settle, and so no further trauma is caused, and no sources of infection are introduced.
-
Will my face still look natural? When removing fine lines from the face we choose a very soft, flexible filler from the range. This allows the filler to move with your normal face movements. It may feel a little strange for a few days, and you may be aware of it if your press the treated area, but after a few days it will settle and you will not know it is there. Your face will look exactly the same – as it did ten years ago! The reverse aging effect of filler is instant and significant.
-
What are the benefits of having fillers?Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a compound that is found naturally in the body. It retains water and hydrates the surrounding tissues providing structural support. It will help rejuvenate the treated area and provide support to the rest of your face to return it to a youthful state.
-
Can I drink alcohol after having fillers? It is recommended that you allow a 24-hour window either side of filler treatment before drinking alcohol. This is because alcohol dilates blood vessels which may cause you to have increased bruising.
-
Is having fine lines filled painful? The short answer is NOT AT ALL! We use a prescription grade local anaesthetic cream to make the procedure as comfortable for you as possible. The filler is inserted using a soft plastic cannula which is inserted through a tiny puncture wound in the skin (this is the area that we numb). There are no nerves in the fatty tissues of the skin, so you will feel an odd sensation, like gentle tugging when the cannula moves to the correct location, but this is not painful. We also only use fillers that contain lidocaine which is the local anaesthetic you get at the dentist so the area will feel numb afterwards. You will just be left with a small pinprick on each side of your face which is very difficult to notice.

What products do you use?Our standard filler of choice is Vivacy Stylage Lidocaine. This product is only for use by registered medical professionals. It contains local anaesthetic to make any procedure much more comfortable for you. It is a premium product and well known to cause minimal swelling and bruising. It is long lasting, and typically lasts around 18 months in fine lines before requiring a top-up.
When not to have dermal fillers?
If you have an active coldsore
If you have a skin infection in the area you wish to treat
If you are allergic to any of the components within the filler
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding
Aftercare for dermal fillers?
Apply cold compresses to the area for the next 24 hours to reduce and swelling you may have and prevent further bruising.
An anti-histamine can help if you have a lot of swelling present.
Protect your fillers from UV rays with sunscreen. This helps them last much longer!!
Possible side effects of dermal fillers?
The risks of receiving dermal fillers are very small
when administered correctly by a suitably qualified practitioner (which we are).
You may experience some discomfort during the procedure. We minimise this by using a
prescription grade anaesthetic numbing cream, and we only use fillers
with local anaesthetic combined. You may also experience
some redness, bruising or swelling at the injection site. We have specifically chosen our
brand of fillers because it leaves minimal swelling and discomfort.
Uncommon side effects are:
Infection at the injection site. We minimise this risk by making sure the filler is injected aseptically.
Vascular occlusion. This is where a blood vessel becomes blocked with filler. As nurses we
have extensive anatomy and physiology knowledge and are aware of all the areas that pose a risk.
We are prepared to treat this should the need arise.
Very rarely serious complications can occur, such as serious allergic reaction.
We are prepared to help you should this situation arise.
Cannot recommend these ladies enough. I'd never had fillers before but I'm so glad I did my research and found Oakridge. I wouldn't go anywhere else. From the first introduction I knew I was in safe hands. Everything was explained in detail and I didn't feel like I was being pressured to have more than what I wanted. The whole place is spotless and very professional. Well done ladies, I'll be back soon.
Rhian Owen.
Cheek filler
As we age we lose volume to the fat pads in our cheeks and bone density to the cheekbones, which causes them to lose definition. The overall effect is a loss of support in the mid-face which can cause our faces to look flat or gaunt, and also causes sagging to the lower face which can result in jowls.
Replacing this volume loss is dramatic. Cheekbones can be enhanced and defined, and wrinkles are plumped back out. Loose skin is pulled back up into its normal resting position, which means jowls and nasolabial folds are reduced. The overall look is a younger, healthier you.
The procedure is quick and painless, with zero recovery time. The result is instant!
